We need your help

Kingdom Builders - Nicaragua Missions is currently looking for mission minded individuals that want to help in the next phase of the Los Cedros Orphanage. We need a new version of AutoCAD 2008 and someone to help in the master plan drafting. We will be making a trip down to Nicaragua to visit the Los Cedros Orphanage to perform "as-built" drawings of the existing buildings in preparation of the next phase. This will be an exciting time to get involved in a mission outreach.

Please call Brian Horne at 843-801-2789 if you can help, or just want to come along on the trip to see what we are doing in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua Mission Trip 2008

The mission trip to Nicaragua this summer was GREAT! Eleven members from James Island Christian Church (JICC) did a great job on several different projects. Brian Horne lead the team (Bruce, Milton, Chris, Stephen, Dolph, Elizabeth, Hanna, Madeline, Nicole and Karen) to an orphanage in Los Cedros a small village 30 minutes from Managua. The orphanage is home to 14 infants and toddlers. Located next the the orphanage is the "Boys Ranch" is home to 9 teenage boys. These boys are between 14 and 17 years old and have come from the orphanage in Jinotega.

Karen having a little fun with one of the babies.

Remembering Ruben

On July 19, 2008 a memorial service was held in Managua for Ruben Guerrero. Ruben passed away in May after a battle with cancer. Ruben was an inspiration to all of us who have been involved in short term missions. Ruben was remembered by many of the pastors he trained over the years during the contra war. Mark Guerrero, Rubens son, will continue the work started by his father.

Nicaragua Mission Trip 2007

The trip in 2007 was special for several reasons. Elizabeth H (14) made the trip with her father Brian (the team leader) for the first time. The team was awesome!!! Tommy, Russ and Cory were worked under the intense sun laying block for the "Boys Ranch" kitchen addition while Anna, Chris, Elizabeth, Katie, Jessie and Maria changed diapers on the first babies brought into the orphanage.
Diapers were not the only things that were changed, many on the team had life changing experiences due to working with the babies, toddlers and teenage boys. One team member said that "I'll never be the same gain"
